At Brave Buddy Service Pups (BBSP), we believe deeply in the healing power of the human–animal bond. Our Therapy Dog Program is dedicated to training, evaluating, and certifying individuals and their dogs as therapy dog teams who bring comfort, compassion, and connection to people in need throughout our communities.
Following the American Kennel Club (AKC) Therapy Dog Program guidelines, Brave Buddy Service Pups proudly supports therapy dog teams who volunteer their time and hearts in service to others. Our program recognizes and celebrates the special role therapy dogs play in improving emotional well-being and creating meaningful connections in diverse settings.
Through the Brave Buddy Service Pups Therapy Dog Program, handlers and their dogs can log visits in their communities while working toward earning official AKC Therapy Dog titles, recognizing their commitment to compassionate community service.

BBSP’s Crisis Response Therapy Dog Program is currently in development. We are building the specialized training, partnerships, and readiness standards needed to support first responders and communities during critical incidents.
Team Requirement
- Certification or registration through an AKC-recognized therapy dog organization.
- Successful evaluation and a ten-year background check.
- Membership fees collected after passing; onboarding, dog uniforms, and insurance as described by the program.
- Five supervised visits.
- BBSP membership in good standing.
- Published minimum: two two-hour visits monthly.
