At Brave Buddy Service Pups (BBSP), we believe deeply in the healing power of the human–animal bond. Our Therapy Dog Program is dedicated to training, evaluating, and certifying individuals and their dogs as therapy dog teams who bring comfort, compassion, and connection to people in need throughout our communities.
Following the American Kennel Club (AKC) Therapy Dog Program guidelines, Brave Buddy Service Pups proudly supports therapy dog teams who volunteer their time and hearts in service to others. Our program recognizes and celebrates the special role therapy dogs play in improving emotional well-being and creating meaningful connections in diverse settings.
Through the Brave Buddy Service Pups Therapy Dog Program, handlers and their dogs can log visits in their communities while working toward earning official AKC Therapy Dog titles, recognizing their commitment to compassionate community service.
To qualify for this program following criteria must be met:
- Certified/registered by an AKC recognized therapy dog organization
- Complete an evaluation
- Upon you and your dog passing the evaluation the membership fee will be collected which includes onboarding, dog uniforms, insurance
- Must pass 10year background check
- Complete 5 supervised visits
- Be a member in good standing with BRAVE BUDDY SERVICE PUPS to volunteer.
- A minimum of 2 hours per month visitation requirement
New Partnership with New Era Dog Training to Expand Therapy Dog Program
BBSP is proud to announce a new partnership with New Era Dog Training aimed at expanding opportunities for individuals and their dogs to become certified therapy dog teams.
Through this collaboration, teams interested in joining the BBSP therapy dog program will now have access to training at two convenient locations: North Royalton and Willowick, Ohio. This partnership allows both organizations to combine their expertise in training, evaluation, and community outreach to strengthen and grow the therapy dog program.
By offering additional training locations and resources, BBSP and New Era Dog Training hope to make it easier for dedicated handlers and their dogs to prepare for meaningful service work in schools, healthcare facilities, community programs, and other therapeutic environments.
